About Jack
Bio

Jack Garson writes from the trenches of the business world. As founder of Garson Claxton LLC and leader of his law firm’s business group, Jack has guided companies from start-up all the way to the celebration dinner following the big sale. His extensive understanding of the business world is why he’s sought after to be the lead negotiator in mega-million dollar sales of companies. Jack also serves as legal and strategic advisor for numerous national, regional and local companies, helping them overcome challenges, grow, succeed and sell.
In addition, Jack is a member of the Board of Directors of the prestigious Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, which oversees Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport.
Extended Bio
Jack’s built his reputation as a top business attorney by exceeding his clients’ expectations and, as they proclaim, achieving exceptional results:
- “You can go to 100 lawyers for most things, but only Jack can handle the really tough problems,” says the managing principal of an international corporate real estate advisory firm.
- “Business owners who have themselves had occasion to use lawyers know that the world has two kinds of lawyers: those who see all the problems and stop, and those who see the problems and figure out ways to solve them. Garson is the latter kind of lawyer,” says the Harvard Law-trained Treasurer of a prominent national university.
- "Jack Garson's technical ability, strategic advice and attention to detail offer an impressive combination that you don't often find when it comes to legal counsel,” says the president of a major financial corporation.
Jack has always been a leader. At 27, he became the youngest partner ever at a prestigious D.C. area law firm. A decade later, Jack founded his own firm. At Garson Claxton, Jack represents everyone from international defense contractors to national developers to local mom-and-pop restaurants. Among his recent accomplishments:
- Successfully negotiated hundreds of commercial transactions—including the sale of a $150-million business and the purchase of multiple major office buildings and shopping centers.
- Structured numerous eight-figure construction contracts.
- Renegotiated numerous contracts for clients suffering in the weakened economy, saving them millions of dollars.
- Identified deficiencies in franchise documents that enabled him to extricate his client from onerous contract restrictions that might have put his client out of business.
